Does anyone know if the 2 pole 50A (main lighting) breaker in a pushmatic120/240V 1phase breaker box is just a standard 2 pole breaker or is it a differnt style minus the terminals that you would connect the load to conventionally? Sorry i didn't phrase this ? better.

You are correct the breaker will work just fine. You will have to deal with the lugs but it will bolt in. Most of the pushamatic mains that I have seen less than 100 amp are 60 amp and installed in split buss panels.
