Burial depth for PVC conduit

Would a 2 inch concrete cover on a PVC conduit allow to reduce the burial depth from 18” to 12” or would it still be 18”?

Yes. Look at T300.5. Column 3 is for PVC. Without the concrete it's 18". Line 2 is for concrete above the trench.

Does Line 2 state that the 2" of concrete or equivalent has to be above the trench, or could you pour 2" of concrete over the pipe then backfill the rest with dirt? Line 4 uses the verbiage exterior slab which means to me that the concrete is above the trench. Nothing like that is stated in Line 2.

Line 2 means that of the 12" of cover, 2" must be concrete.

I have used the 2" of concrete to eliminate the need for any additional depth or cover.

It was a genny install in a back yard. The inspector was fine with it.
