burial depth for uf

for a single family dwelling is the burial depth for underground feeder 24" or 18". some inspectors are using the listing on table 300.5 that refers to dwelling driveways and parking areas and allowing 18" for the entire installation. i thought this was for an uf that went under the driveway. i'm not complaining, i just want to be right on this.

I believe the inspectors you are referring to are wrong on this one. The 18" depth applies to the portion under the driveway; it does not apply to the entire installation.

I see where this might be a mis-interp of 300.5 One and two family dwelling driveways and outdoor parking areas, and "used only for dwelling related purposes" (18") I always thought "and" meant a continuation or inclusive situation with the topic. So use all locations not specified below. (24")
