Buried Treasure

I also use a straight edge like a flourescent tube to find the bulge. But what I do is make the box cut in the interior of the box and then angle cut the drywall so the box will now be flush as it should have been in the first place and push the drywall against the stud. The screws just pop out and then I trim the device and move on.No need for goof rings or long screws at all.BTW I limit the # of burried items to 2, after that the GC or the drywaller will have to find what ever is burried. Also I refuse to find a ceiling box or can on a ceiling.I didn`t cover it why should I find it is my motto.

Any more than a few buried boxes and I charge the builder. $10 per box. I tell them I'm not trying to get rich, but it's costing me time. Since around here the board hangers get paid by the board it usually solves the problem. They usually get less than $10 per 4x12 board.
