Wow,all the quality of a mobile home wire job.Why would any good electrician use garbage like this.

Personally, I'm drooling over any wiring technology that would allow me to fix someone elses mistakes without having to drag wire all over the place.

The last house I looked at in Katrina Land was wired by 12 (or fewer -- perhaps they practiced their craft on some other houses I didn't take a look at) of the US Navy's finest. Who apparently were really good at wiring ships, but not so good at wiring houses. So the entire length of the only usable den wall had zero (0) outlets. Twenty some odd feet of wall. NO outlets. Not one, not two, but ZERO!

It got remodelled by several Navy sailors after first being remodelled by Katrina.

The homeowners have sense enough to leave things alone. It's everyone else who never touched a wire before last year that doesn't.

Does any body remember seeing a NM tap system that is just like a non boxed mobile home device.I saw then awhile back at our supply house on the counter. They were t taps that were self enclosed and like a non boxed mobile home device they used a v slot to make the connection.I haven`t seen them since but was wondering if they are still out there. My first thought was that they would be a service crews dream for adding a receptacle where the NM was to tight to tap into.

I used a couple to add in-wall clock receptacles for wall-mounted TV's, where I knew the load. The best thing about them is that you can install them with the line hot, but only if you're really good with a razor knife.
