can anyone give me the link to the info on c/h tan afcis that were a problem when they first came out? I was sure I read either recall info or at least thier acknowledgement of a problem with certain ones.(beyond our normal friggin problems!!!)

Footerr, That link is for the Square D recall.

Stew,
Has there been a problem with CH AFCI's? I hadn't heard that. Or were you mixing it up with Square D?

I don't think CH AFCI's ever had a problem and the Square D one has long been resolved. I don't see the Square D "blue button" afci's too often.

this is a c/h series afci 3 1/2 yrs old that just began tripping for no apparent reason. The resign has changed for these especially as to thier outward appearence, specifically the test button. the old unit has a rocker type switch and the new has a button. after this was replace no more tripping has occured.

I have a CH115AF in my hand right now, I special ordered it about 3-4 years ago before I understood what the rules were for existing circuits, It's been sitting in my shop and I didn't have to use it so I am still in possession of it if you need it, ;) It has a rocker type switch on it, may not know if there's a problem for some time, I like ch style breakers and they seem like a quality breaker but my supplier deals in SQ D, I bought this from the locale true value hardware store, the price marked on it is $40.99, not bad for a hardware store, Maybe 10 years from now I'll still have it.

It seems like I recall the manufacturers increasing their GFP from 10 to 50 mA, which decreased nuisance tripping, but don't hold me to that. I can't remember the particulars. :)

I've put in brand new CH120AF breakers right out of the box and within 20 minuates they trip. Go to the supply house get a different one put it in, never trips. Explain that!

You hadn't wasted gas money and time on the first one.
