Hi,
I looking for a procedure to performing cable (high voltage xlpe) ampacity calculations by hand; a worked example would be perfect.

Is work slow in Trinidad? The equation shown is the Neher-McGrath equation.
It looks simple but it is a 100 time more complex that it looks. That's why engineers use a software program to do the calculation for then. Do a google search for Neher-McGrath equation.
 
No Sir, work isn't slow. I just prefer to do it by hand at least once, and right now I?m doing it out of pure interest.
