Hi everyone,
I'm looking for the requirement for fittings that can be used in Class 2 Division 2.

What I found so far is
Cable conduit with UL 1660 can be used in C2D2
e.g ABB PMA CUS

What I cannot find or identify is the requirment for the fittings
Would UL 1696 or UL 514B fitting sufficient for C2D2?

Thanks!

Best regards,
Bng

If you are asking about conduit bodies used in a Class II, Division 2 location they are only required to be dust tight. Most manufacturers show their conduit bodies with a gasketed cover as being in compliance with UL 50E. That is the standard for dust tight enclosures.

Thank you for the quick response!
To provide a bit more context, this will be used inside a flour mill plant. Therefore, the area is classified as Class II, Division 2, Group G.
If I understand correctly, conduit bodies, or my case a junction box, must be UL 50E listed in order to be used in a Class II, Division 2 environment. According to the NEC, Types 3 through 13 are all considered sufficient.

I have a flexible non-metal cable conduit connected to a fitting or connector, which is part of a junction box.
Does it matter which specific type of compliance or NEMA rating the fitting must have?

I don't see the term "wind blown dust" in the outdoor part of Table 110.28 as being the same as "circulating dust, lint, fibers, and flyings" in the indoor part. The most commonly used dust tight box is a NEMA type12.

I would see the fittings you show as being dust tight, but would want to look at the actual specification sheets for those products.
