Hey all, I have an application where I am placing a signal tower about 30 feet from the control cabinet that driving it (via a PLC output card). I’m trying to find out what requirements the cable needs to meet. Here is some basic info.

-24 VDC class 2 power supply
-Exposed cable run intended (to be run overhead on existing support structures in the area and installed by plant maintenance)
-7.5 w total power consumption.
-7-10 conductors required depending on desired light functionality.

The control panel controls a test process that happens across about 20 feet of a moving conveyor.

There are many cable types that can be used for class 2 wiring, I would typically use a PLTC from Belden. Belden has good tech support suggest you give them a call.
Some wholesale houses have master spools that will cut short lengths of cable

As an alternative, run 1/2" EMT and pull 18awg TFFN conductors if you don't want to use a cable.

Either way, I'd probably be installing conduit, lest it get damaged.
