calculated load for a garage attached to a dwelling unit

I'm trying to design my own home and was thinking of a under $10,000 home standby system. As I am sitting here doing my service calculation, I can't find anything specific for an attached garage.
Would the square ft. of the garage be added to the the general lighting and recep. load?
 
Look at 220.12. It states for dwelling units, the calculated floor area shall not include porches, garages, or unused or unfinished spaces not adaptable for future use. If you did figure the sq.ft with the garage included it would not change the overall calculation significantly.

Pretend that the garage is not there. Unless you are running a business out of the garage I doubt if you ever have any problem with whatever you put in the garage unless your growing dope or doing some other illegal activity.
