The easiest way is to simply draw a panel schedule. Arrange your breakers (Larry suggested a great approach to this if you can do it) and add up your loads on each phase. You'll get a very quick visual snapshot of your loads and whether or not you need to re-arrange your breakers. Post the schedule, if you like, and I'm sure someone can help you, if needed.

My favorite way of doing this is to stack the 2-poles on one side and the 1-poles on the other, breaker count permitting, of course.

You still need to consider what the load on the breakers is, what is continuous what is intermittent, non coincidental, etc. to get the best overall balance.
