I am looking into my contractors license for california. I was looking into some schools and wanted to know if any one had any recomendations. I wasn't don't plan on going on my own right away, but would like to get my license so i could start doing some stuff on the side and go on my own in the next couple of years.

What school have people had the most sucess with and is there any other books anyone could recomend in order to prepare?

don't worry about the trade part of the exam, you should take a "crash" 8 hours on the law part.

The trade is pretty is easy? I took the CA j-mans exam a couple of months ago. I thought it would be hard because quite a few guys in my company had failed. I studied 2 weekends and got a 90, thought it was kind of a joke. How does the trade part compare to it. I know I at least have to take some kind of law course. Any recomendations?

the trade will be easy for you, but the law will be all new to you and hard.

I agree with QES,

That's what I did and passed first time.

My thought on the trade portion of the test is this. If you don't know it you don't have any business taking the test in the first place.
