Can I use aluminum wire for fire pump service?

I always run this past the vendor providing the controller and keep a record of Ok or not.
Have had some vendors for this, elevators, etc. come back and state CU only.

Who are you talking to at the "vendor?" Are they citing anything written by the manufacturer or the Code, or just saying: "Um, let me think, um, NO."
 
You should check the fire pump controller some of them require copper conductors. This is from a Firetrol controller.

There is a lot of things out there that require copper conductors, doesn't necessarily mean you can't run aluminum conductors majority of the way from the source to said item and make a short length of copper be the final link to that equipment.

Most items that require copper conductors simply don't have supply lugs that are rated to accept aluminum conductors
