I have an apartment buildings that they are remodeling it is a concrete block building and they are putting a footing and adding a brick shell on the outside. They had the NM run thur the block from the switch to the outside light is that OK code wise?

See article 334.10(A)2. You can fish the wires in the voids as long as they don't go and fill them solid with concrete or other simular materials.

Looks like the "maybe's" have it. As stated, its done every day in terms of fishing in open blocks and between bricked areas. As long as its not a wet environment I guess it seems to be acceptable. I would rather run a piece of UF cable there since its pretty much a perfect match and totally within the code descriptions. Tough call if you use NM... no brainer if you use UF.

Thanks everybody Sparkyway on the UF cable that was what I was thinking just to make sure it was code compliant.
