I would like to get some information regarding capacitive prox switches in CID2. I can only find these in standard version, and in intrinsically safe version.
When electronics only have CID1 alternate protection methods (IS, Explosion-proof) this instantly triggers in me the thought that they do not have lesser CID2 protection method variants because they do not have to. Solenoid banks are a good example of this.
Ideally, I want to either move them out of the hazardous area, or find them labelled from the manufacturer CID2. I hate over-designing for CID2. I think the intent of the NEC is to not overdesign CID2 areas.
