please tell me WHY the molding always overlays our boxes?

A wild guess...did the carp possibly 'add' the 3/4" for assumed floor finish to his height, forgetting that the finish floor was installed??

John may have a point. Now would be a good time to measure and see just who is at the wrong elevation.

If you are at the correct height then you should get paid to change it or the carpenter can redo his work.

What exactly are we looking at in the top left corner of the picture? You may not be able to move it up even if you wanted to.

Good thing you installed the gfic before the trim. I would have been a job to get that lower 6-32 in.

Actually I think he would have better argument (outside of code requirements) when he is not able to install the receptacle. Although the thing may need to be taken out someday.

Calmly look the HO in the eye and say "Of course I don't have a problem with what he did, you're the one who gets billed to fix his mistakes."

After all, each trade warrants their own work. If the HO really wants to pay you to fix it instead of calling the carpenter on the carpet -- well, okay.

I mentioned this from a job last year that had issues with 18 floor boxes in slab, with a trip hazzard after the finish floor was installed. Someone (budget or designer) changed floor from original spec to VCT, and neglected to inform anyone!:happysad:

How about the time we did a parking lot had the poles all in South lot, started working on North lot owner of Co. calls me to South lot chewing me a new one, poles too low!! Dirt up over the hand holes!
I walk over to the Eng. sitting in his truck "Did you make a change in finish elevation and forgot to tell everyone?" Eng. " Ahhh yes why?" Me " just was wondering" walked over to owner " go talk to that guy in the truck" back to North lot. Never changed anything about 6" of dirt over the hand holes.
