cat 5 cable on exterior of building

Is standard cat 5 cable rated to be installed on the exterior of the building unprotected?

I doubt it. but they do make cat5 cable that is rated for outdoor use. They also make it inside an armor if you need protection.

they already have j-hook type deals on the outside where they have run a ton of cat-5, but if I need to secure it anywhere else, I will use straps like that:wink:
