Our low voltage cru is cutting into a hard lid cieling and is going to some mount access points for data. There will be an access hatch to get to those points. According to the NEC what and where does it talk about supporting the cables pulled to the access points. I would think that the Cat 6 cable would only need to supported where you can reach it from the access hatch and the rest of the cable could rest on the ceiling. I don't think you are required to take down the hard lid cieling to support the full length of the cable. Can anyone help me with this?

Take a look at 800.24.

The wire will be above the ceiling not exposed. Does it have to be supported. If so we have to cutt into the hard lid ceiling to support the cable.
