I am running cat5e from our first floor to the roof for a wireless access point. The easiest way is though the elevator shaft. Does it have to be in emt? Does it have to be plenum rated?

I don't think so...the Cat 5 is a Chapter 8 installation...Chapter 8 is stand alone and 620.37(A) does not apply unless it says so in Chapter 8.Roger, wouldn't 620.37(A) prohibit this install also?
