Ceiling Box Support

There are several different type of drywall ceiling system including T-bars but there might be another type involved. We see T-bar with drywall and hat channel with drywall. In either case we would use a box bracket for support on the metal grid structure and a threaded rod through the box up to whatever is above.

Amazing how they make that for a T bar ceiling and not being able to be used with MC or other armored cables.

I know it has a KO but I wouldn't use plastic boxes in commercial with MC.

Have you ever ran MC or even EMT to a plastic exit sign or emergency light?

Some mount on a flush box but some are able to be surface mounted and run raceway or cable into a KO, and quite a few can be either/or. At least the "old school" ones were that way a lot of options out there today that aren't the same as the old school ones used to be and LED light sources have made that easier.
