Ceiling height considerations for recessed lighting

I have a client with a new build. The ceilings in the great room are tall, somewhere in the 19-20' range.

How effective are recessed lights at this height for general illumination? Or is it just a matter of using more of them and at a higher output for the desired amount of light?

thanks

It would also depend on the size of the room regarding width and length. Most of these lights now have a selectable K (color). The higher the ceiling the higher you should set the K. I had a house I wired with 20' ceilings. I put in 8 lights and set them at 4K. I think 5K would be better but the HO wanted the 4K.
