they have been selling them for a couple years at Menards, some even come with adapters to install them in medium base sockets.

Yes, I've seen them at Lowe's. About 5-6 bucks each. Ugly looking things too.

Yes, I retrofitted some into exterior lighting on rental property that had "fancy" fixtures with candelabra bases.

the bill I think you are talking about is about banning the importation and sale of incandescent lamps, there will be other options to use such as LEDs...

I guess they have not put them in the middle of the isle for me to trip over yet. Not having to buy material in a few years has me at a disadvantage.

Actually, the bill (as I understand it) does not ban incandescents outright, but it does require them to meet more stringent efficiency standards.

yep. I have them in my front porch fixtures

yeah but so do flourescents and mercury vapor bulbs. The cfl's contain small amounts.

All HID lamps contain mercury....obviously mercury vapor but metal halide and sodium as well.

Technically HID lamps are supposed to be recycled like fluorescents are, but in practice this does not happen as often as it should.

not good food choices as they often contain MSG. At least the Ramen Noodles do.
