Challenger panels- 2 types?

It seems there are two types or styles of Challenger panels and breakers?
One type can be replaced with Eaton BR legally (and Elec inspector pass) and the other style is similar to Zinsco style and the panel should be replaced?
Is this correct?

I believe challenger is not like Zinsco, but rather like FPE or federal pacific 'stab lock' however, I have never seen one of these panels.

I have heard of Challenger and Connecticut Electric breakers that replace federal pacific breakers. How can I find out if this is correct and legal? I have seen the breakers. But are they really approved to replace FP breakers? Thank you for any helpful information. Sent from my SCH-I605...

The Challanger twin or 1/2 size breakers that are compatable with eaton BR are also garbage, possibly much worse then FPE.

EDIT I am wrong I think they may have also made QFP QFP Series Sylvania, 'Z' breakers labeled 'challenger'

Yes there are at least two types. I've only had the types that will take the BR breakers (or the weird Challenger brand side clip ones). I've seen pictures of the Challenger panels that look like Zinsco, but never seen one. Zinsco style breakers looks unique, so there should be no confusion if a Challenger panel takes those types of breakers.

By the time Challenger came into existence, the Zinsco 3/4" panels had been discontinued, just the replacement breakers had Challenger branding, BTW there are FPE panels out there with Challenger branding.
