Crating ?
Where to buy a 4' cubic box?
Uhaul / lighting showroom or build it yourself out of plywood?
Best to disassemble fully or partially or just suspend it in a bag of popcorn and hang it from a wooden dowel

How best to secure 100+ lbs new fixture from ceiling fan box

fixture has a big canopy that should fasten to concrete lid

The fan box should be good for majority of weight but...
Hammer drill 1/4" x 2-1/2" or so wedge anchors for the canopy of room permits
The question is to add epoxy to the hole to stiffen it or not?
Ramset just doesn't sound stable enough over time for the swinging from lamp changes and earthquakes

And green plastic anchors would be even better w some fun tac!

Thx

I have to take this Chandelier down
I'm
Looking for opinions on
(Disassembling or not) and
crating
Or where to obtain cardboard boxes of adequate strength and volume

I have to replace that chandelier with a big designer custom build trinity pendant hanging on a fan box in concete ceiling
100+ lbs fixture
Some weight supported by box
Some weight supported by concrete anchoring

I'm
Looking for heavy hanging tips:

wedge anchoring question is to Expoxy or not

Ramset fastener question is about reliability and suitability for purpose
Suspension of mostly static load

Is the ceiling and mounting height high enough to justify a lowering rig?
I would disassemble the old one since packing/wrapping the crystals will protect them better from chipping. And it would reduce the weight on the framework, making it easier to pack.
Depends on how it will be shipped or stored.

I never used a lowering rig for chandelier

Is that like the crank op rig for raising up hvac units into ceiling?

I was thinking of whether the owner would be able to use a ladder for cleaning and relamping in the future or would want a manual or motorized way to lower it.
Without access to the space above it, it would be hard to devise something, though.
