Hi, we have an opportunity to build some panels for a customer that's not happy with their current panel shop.
As I looked through the drawings I saw that they designed this panel to be able to take two phases of 120v, and run on either 120v or 240v with some jumper shenanigans.
Easy enough, seen this and done it before. The odd thing is the wire color they're using on the 2nd leg. They're calling for black with a white stripe. I've never once seen this wire used, but they say this is what the old panel builder said UL required. I've poured over UL documentation for these kinds of panels and I cannot find anything that calls for black/white stripe.
The wire is incredibly hard to find, or expensive, in the size we need, and it's for a 4 inch run from the main disconnect to the power distribution blocks. We don't want to buy 500ft of this lol.
I'm waiting on a call back from my UL guy, but I just want a sanity check here, am I missing a code that requires this wire color. It seems so bizarre to me.
Thanks ahead of time guys hope you're having a good one
