Changing Residential 3Phase System to single phase but use a phase converter for AC?

I agree i would rather not do it, rotary phase converter are great but the digital ones are not so much. That said I am trying to find a way to get them back up and running. It drives me crazy an ac company installed a 3 phase unit.

I've never seen one either. I know they exist out in the Phoenix area and other areas that were early adopters of air conditioning.

What is to stop having a single phase panel for the house circuits, and a separate enclosure right next to it that holds one 3 phase breaker. It's well within the 6 hand operations rule

Or if it's just an hvac system get a quote for a single phase system. It's a 3 phase service to do a replacement might be more than a single phase and a new hvac system plus it'll last. Who knows how much refrigerant they have in the ac and maybe the blower motors are 50 years old
