I said when they came i would post my opinion :( there is a standard screw hole there when a screw mounted plate is installed. It is a metallic thread integral with the ground so metal plates are grounded. The plates that come with the kit are pretty easy to install each device has 4 holes that the plate tabs slip into could be a bear on multi gang boxes.
The kit came with 100 1 gangs 15 2 gangs 12 3 gangs and 3 4 gang boxes. As well as a few devices. It also had a really cool hat and tool bag in it :D
I have a small remodel to do tomorrow and will use the boxes.I installed one of the duplex receptacles in my work shop today when i replaced the receptacle that I use for my boats battery charger will see how it holds up. ;)
It says designed by electricians for electricians.I can`t see how it will be 3X faster
Having to install the screw blocks and that means keeping them out of the trash pile .No screw retainer,Having to remove a piece of plastic to remove a receptacle tab,no kwik clip when trimming out the only thing I see is 3X faster is the plate installed with no screws.
I am waiting for dave to get back with me our last phone conversation I told him let me see what it is and then we can talk. The $ savings would have to be great to go with them but that is my opinion maybe others that get the kit will differ. But the hat is cool ;)

Re: Cheetah bxes and devices

I'm glad that you like the hat. I am going to throw things the first time I do a service call and don't have any replacement parts for these. Keep it standard I say... whats so wrong with screws... stop being cheap and lazy. But, this is only the opinion of one man.

Re: Cheetah bxes and devices

Oh I agree with the parts thing. What I was bringing up with the screws is that they are seperate from the devices in which they have no retaining piece.Trimming out a home would be time consuming when each device would have to have the screws inserted after hooked up.I like the kwik clip boxes push and a couple of turns and done deal with these the screw has to cut in for every thread.

Re: Cheetah bxes and devices

Allen, you must have missed something with the devices. I received a "demo" (the barbs have been stripped from one device's holes) 2-gang box and a receptacle. If you dare to use the stab terminals, you literally need no screwdriver at all.

The receptacle, and I assume all devices, come with the screws already screwed into the square pegs that insert into the 1/4"-square mounting holes. You connect your wires and just push the two pegs into the box holes. It can be as fast as attaching the plate.

Re: Cheetah bxes and devices

Oh I understand what you mean now I just watched a demo vid. I am curious to see how much attention these get. But, we probably all agree it's just 1 more oddball part we may have to improvise on in a service call situation. :p bleh.

Re: Cheetah bxes and devices

The demo set I recieved came with a 2 gang demo box devices installed and other boxes with the inserts bagged.I removed the device and when I dropped the screw ,said mmmmm that could be an issue.I did backstab one and it held just fine the device seems that it is a pretty good quality though.
