hi fellas!
I am in the middle of a electrical design for a child care area. I can not find anything on the NEC about this. Even though is recommended for dwelling units, I will recommend using tamper resistant receptacles. Are there any other places (Codes, references, articles) that can be of help?
thanks ahead for any input

I don't know of any section of the code that addresses this type of occupancy. 517.18 only covers pediatric care areas. The TR recepts are a good call and I would also recommend GFCI protection.

If you are designing this you would be above the code in requiring the TR recpt. but in this case it would be well advised. You may want to check with the local health dept. or State for their requirements. I did a remodel in a church that was converting a building into a day care. The state had requirements for the lighting. I had to have 52 lumens at 26" from floor for desk lighting.

Turn to the back of your code book and take out the proposal form, fill it out and send it in...then maybe there will be in the 2011 code.
