Church wiring

When wiring a church, the code seems to say you have to wire the auditorium in MC cable but the rest of the building can be done in Romex. Am I reading something wrong or can this really be done this way? I always thought the entire building had to be in MC. Thanks

Unless you have local codes in effect your are correct. Section 518.4 (B) for nonrated construction.

You may run afoul of 334.12(A)(2).
