I would like to know if there is a restriction on mounting a Main Lugs only Circuit breaker panel in a horizontal position. I ahve never seen this done before, but would like to do this to replace four fuse panels mounted side by side in my basement. Most 100Amp or larger panels with sufficient spaces to replace all fuses are too long to place in the normal vertical position. I have never read of any objections to this, but know of no reasons why this can't be done. I would appreciate any comments.
