Circuits from separate utlity sources to sports lighting pole

Are there any code violations with a sports lighting pole being supplied from two circuits (one from a panel supplied by utility source 1 and one from a panel supplied by utility source 2) from different utility services as long as there are separate disconnects on the pole with labelling to indicate multiple sources and where fed from?

this would be a structure supplied by two services.

read 230.2 carefully.

even if allowed, IMO if you are supplying the same load you would need some kind of transfer switch as the previous poster suggested.

225.30 would apply if it was served by feeders or branch circuits.

I think you might be right. I missed the part where he suggested two seperate panelboards and fixated on the part where he mentioned two separate services, which would suggest it is not two services but two branch circuits or feeders.
 
Thanks guys. More details....the circuits feed two separate loads. The lighting pole has the lights divided into two circuits and wired to two separate disconnects at the bottom of the pole. I've seen two circuits from the same panelboard feed this arrangement, but never seen it fed from panels from two different utility sources.

You may have seen it done this way, but I don't think it meets code unless the two circuits are really one circuit as part of a MWC.
 
I wonder if sports lighting poles with a large quantity of fixtures (large load) would fall under the exception in 225.30 "A structure so large that two or more feeder supplies are necessary"?

Another exception in 225.30 that could apply is "Different voltages, frequencies, or uses. For example, control of outside lighting from multiple locations.". I think different uses would apply if the fixtures on the pole are being used to illuminate two separate fields. One circuit is for fixtures on pole for field A, and the other circuit is for fixtures on pole for field B.

What do you think?
