Hi.
I will be feeding a small detached garage.
I would rather not bring a feeder and install a panel. It’s a small garage, even too small to park a car. Any car charging would be fed from the main panel.

I figured I would bring out a 12-3 for two 20 amp circuits.

Circuits will be for
1- door opener
1- refrigerator
1- stereo amp
Inside light
Outside light
Convenience receptacles

I’m confident as far a current draw it will work, but as far as the combination circuit 50%-80% rule would this meet code requirements ?

If so, how might you split the above list on those two circuits?

Thank you.

The only equipment fastened in place would be the door opener. Hard to believe it would draw more than 50%

As for the 80% I would look at the stereo amp, but I can't imagine having any problem.

I would put lights, door opener and amp on 1 leg, and fridge + convenience receptacles on the other

I’d put the fridge and lights on one, and everything else on the other. That way you don’t need to worry about something plugged into the general use receptacle tripping a breaker and shutting off the fridge. And the lights will be an indication that the fridge circuit is tripped.

Assumes breakers with handle ties, not a 2P.
