I have another question:

A type CL2 cable for a Class 2 circuit is run from a furnace to a thermostat locatin in another part of a new building under construction. the cable is required to be attached to structural components of the building at intervals not to exceed:
A. any distance because support distance are not supported for a Class 2 circuit.
B. 4.5 ft
c. 5 ft
d. 6 ft
e. 8 ft.

I found 725.141 and 725.143 which reverts you to 300.11(B)(2) but none of this give distances. I have an intuition of Either a or D, but not exactly sure. Can someone point me into a better direction?

725.141 applies to Class 2 and 3 circuit conductors extending beyond one building and I don't believe that would apply to the above question.

725.143 would prohibit Class 2 circuit conductors from being strapped to or supported by a raceway except as permitted by 300.11(B)(2).

The closest you will come to a requirement for supporting Class 2 and 3 cables is 725.24. This section does not contain any specific requirements as far as distances between supports.

My answer to the above question would be A.
