Hi all,

We are looking at a single POCO connection at 208Y/120V 3-ph 4w for what is basically 2 residential units and an attached workshop.

For the 2 residences I was able to get the load using part III and part IV calculation.

For the workshop, I am understanding that I follow:
Table 220.42 for lighting loads
Article 430 for motors
Article 630 for arc welders
I'd like to confirm that there are no demand factors applied to these connected loads in the workshop except as outlined in the specific articles in 430 and 630?

Thanks much!

Have you checked to see what utility rate you will be under with this setup?
If the shop is considered a commercial customer, then the 2 residentail units may be charged a commercial rate. Do you have seperated meters?

Hey Bob,

I haven't done that. There is a contractor on board and they are taking into consideration anything to do with the utility.

However, the design basis could be either a single meter and submeters or go with 3 individual meters; where one meter per space.
