Greetings~
I work for a small manufacturing company that builds Power Swivels for the Oilfield.
We are in th process of having to comply with Class 1, div 2 locations with electronic engines as the only mechanical engines are becomeing quickly obsolete. I am currently looking for a few good sourses of where to purchase explosion proof alternators, and what exactly constitutes that as defined in NEC Article 501.125.
Second question: Does anyone know if the current ECM setups on engines like cat C-9, 15 and 18, or the Cummins QSC8.3 are currently able to meet the C1/d2 requirements or if they need to be enclosed, purged or other.
Thanks!
