Installing an explosion proof light fixture in a collision shop paint booth. The j box is outside the booth. Can I use cord for feed or do I need metal conduit ?

The wiring method in the classified area must be one of the wiring methods in 501.10(A). While 501.10(A)(2) permits flexible cord for applications where flexiblity is required, I doubt that would apply here. Also don't forget the seal fitting that will be required in the wiring method between the classified and non-classified areas. 501.15(A).
