Class 2 Division 2 AHU low voltage wiring

If the air handling unit is on the roof, but the ductwork goes to the 1st floor of a 3-story building, is the inside of the rooftop unit still considered Class 2 Div 2 if the 1st floor is Class 2 Div 2? Does the unit need to be piped in ridgid for CL3R wiring?
