Class 1 division 1 im familiar with this is regarding a acetone recycler placed out side a paint booth area the equipment is class 1 div 1 and group D I am not familiar with group D requirements I do know im trying to keep my disconnect out of my class area for obvious reasons. SO what is the group D ?

See Section 500.6(A)(4). You also should review NFPA 497 as referenced in the Informational Note to obtain the “T-Code” required in Sections 500.8(B) and (C)(4).

Group A = Acetylene
Group B = Hydrogen (and similar)
Group C = Ethylene (and similar)
Group D = Propane (and similar)

Group D often means the location has methane or propane.
