On a recent project, I brought to the engineers attention that I believed we had a problem inside our high voltage switchgear vault. The room is approximatly 20' long, with 2 exits. the switchgear is 15' long, and the back of it is 6" off a concrete wall. (There are no renewable or adjustable parts to the back, it is a dead-front switchboard.) The front of the switchgear has only 5'4" of clear working space. I told them that this is a violation of NEC Table 110.34(A) Condition 2. Who's right? Any thoughts?
