closing threads

first off i am not looking for an apology as i was not booted off of any forum, but i do take offense for don deciding its enough and close a thread. why shloud one person decide a topic has been exhausted and close it. is this a power trip, or an ego thing. there was no malice, arguing, cursing or anything else on the freedom of speech thread, but don decided to close it.
