Code Book Reading

Its a reference book. It doesnt read well as a novel.
Keep a copy at work if you can. Read up on the wiring method or systems and equipment you are working on and see how it applies.
Usually the greatest source of NEC information is a 3rd or fourth year studying for his Jounerymans exam.

Does anyone use the handbook on CD-ROM? I was thinking about getting that for my laptop. I could see where it would come in handy.

I keep both '05' & '08' soft bound in the truck and have the 05' & 08' handbooks on CD-ROM, I like the 08 hand book CD better because it has the 3 previous code cycles on pdf with it. Some times to pictures help you explain to a client why you need to do something a certain way rather then just saying, "because it's code".
 
wow. i can't believe my reply from yesterday got deleted. not even a "deleted by. . ", just completely removed from existence.

As a wise man once said I don't put anything in my head that I can look up
Wouldn't want to crowd my head up

In my bath room we have a shower curtian with the map of the world on it, just a thought it would be nice to have a shower curtian with the NEC on it

Seriously I keep a Soft Bound Edition and a copy of the NEC Hand Book on my dash and refer to them when necessary

I also keep a soft bound at my computer

I-wire said it best (anyone that doesn't need to look things up in the code book once in awhile scares me also)

Possible a few other places I can't remember which is why I need a reference close at hand.

2005 and 2008 plus other interesting reading material, IEEE Green Book etc.
