I was asked to put a disconnect 5 ft 6 in A.F.F to bottom. Is there a code stating a max height for the disconnect? Location control rm for a X ray machine.

Also if the Disconnect is also the OCPD ( which may not be the case but good to know ) then look at 240.24 as well ( change for 2005 NEC )

But if only a "Disconnection Means" then 404.8(A) would apply.
