Is there any part of the code that will not allow me to go from rigid emt (1 1/4)
to pvc in an area that is not subject to traffic. Thanks everyone. I read here for about three hours a night after work with my code book. I am really learning alot. Great forum, great tool. Thanks.

Many, including myself, will feel that it is just fine.:smile:

If you look hard enough though, you can probably find a possible 110.3(B) violation, such as a PVC (male) terminal adapter is not specifically listed for use with a rigid metal conduit threaded coupling by UL.:-?

I don't see a problem as long as the coupler and the conduit type is approved for the application.

I can't tell you of one. Not even gonna go into article 110.3(B), because that is "EVERYONE'S" justification for their "belief" if they don't have any other codes to back it up. So with that said it is legal, if it wasn't then all the inspectors through 3 different states I have worked and done what you are proposing were wrong which I highly doubt. It's practiced and passed everyday. Let the arguments begin. :)

Yeah, just run the proper sized green wire with it, the depth of burial is per the code and is based on the "traffic" conditions.
Not at a book sorry!

I'll assume that its rigid from distrubtion point to near earth then PVC :)

Now an AHJ might be concerned with protection of the drop, (use schedule 80 PVC) and at what height or exact elevation that this change over happens, but thats usually covered with a phone call... JMHO...

Three hours, U slacker ! :grin::grin::grin:

What about Yahoo pool, and the gaming tables ?
