Who's here/going to be here in scenic Massachusetts? I'm shacked up at the Hyatt in Braintree for the next couple of nights. Close to the relocated venue.

What new Code rule caught your attention the most?

For me...in the 2023 NEC it is the expanded use of GFCI for kitchen appliances and receptacles.

In Mass...there was a DFS Emergency Amendment Advisory to the 527-CMR-12.00 effective yesterday (1/26/2023), for nuisance tripping of GFCI...which adds an exception to 210.8 for use of Rule 11 to omit the GFCI in certain applications. This is effective as an emergency for 90-days. But, I expect this language to be part of the 2023 MEC, when promulgation is complete.

Yeah. That's a big one. I'm actually dealing with a GFCI tripping on a brand new induction cooktop. Also, the island receptacles change is important for me. I've been begging my kitchen designers for years to make provisions for receptacles in islands. They finally listened so I'm happy we can still install them. 🤣
