Cold shrink 5kV stress cone vs heat shrink 5kV stress cone

What are the concerns or implications of heat shrink vs cold shrink 5kv stress cones? We specced heat shrink but contractor is having delivery schedule issues so they're asking if they can use cold shrink.

IMO cold shrink is the better of two. I always used the Raychem MV kits with cold shrink.

I prefer the heat shrink ones....unless they are being installed outside in very cold weather, but that is just my opinion. Both are totally acceptable.

With a little practice to install aside, cold shrink is officially way better looking after 20yrs..

I’ve used cold shrinks for 30+ years.
Love them..

hated the old stack cone terminations and porcelain potheads. I got that old blue crap all over me everytime we filled one up.
