Color Phasing Through Contactor

I have a lighting contactor being fed from a panelboard. The circuits feeding it are going to be varying 208 circuits of black, red & blue. They will be feeding through a terminal block in the contactor and then going out to their associated lights. Do I need to match the phasing through the contactor? For example if my circuit 1 is blue/black, should the lighting circuit that it feeds also be phased blue/black? Or can all the circuits be defaulted to black/red since it's technically fed by the contactor now?

You may be required to mark the terminations, but not coordinate the conductor insulation.

I think it would be a good *idea* to keep the insulation color consistent. I would appreciate it if I were the maintenance guy. But it's not code required.

If you're not going to be consistent with your colour scheme, why tape them at all? A mislabeled conductor is potentially more dangerous than an unlabeled one. Just my $0.02

Though it’s not required I would keep the color of the wire the same from the source to the load to help with trouble shooting and confusion.

Being it is not a code requirement I would much rather have the circuit breaker # on every wire. We always marked every pull box & 1900 box cover what panel feed the enclosed circuits & circuit #'s & the voltage( s ). Have worried on three & up to ten pole lighting contactors that only had two wire type AC or MC cable coming off each pole.

Thanks everyone, I'm planning on matching everything through the contactor. 210.5(C)(1) does point out to phase at splice points, which isn't exactly this scenario. But might as well match everything for any future headaches and consistency.
