Combining Circuits from different "sources"

Hello,

Been scouring NEC to no avail. Hope someone could point me in the right direction quickly.

Does the NEC prohibit running circuits from different sources in the same raceway? Specifically, I'm referring to combining circuits from a PDU (which is fed by a battery supplied UPS) and circuits from a panel with "normal power" (which is fed by an ATS that switches normal utility power and emergency generator power).

Please let me know if further clarification is required. Thanks.

Thanks, Pierre. I had never really looked past the 400's in the NEC.

The two sections you've quoted seem somewhat contradictory.

I suppose my next question is, what exactly constitutes an emergency system? The PDU here is used to supply power to communications racks and audio-visual equipment.

I looked into the chapter a bit further and ran into 702, "optional stand-by" systems. Facilities of data processing/communications systems are listed as types of these.

Apparently, conductors from different sources used to back-up optional stand-by systems can be run in the same raceway.

Thanks.
