Commercial: 15 amp lighting circuits ok ?

Is it ok to run 15 amp lighting circuits in offices? With all troffers LED now, it is easier. I only ask because I ran 15 amp outlets in a dining room in a house recently and ran into trouble, not realizing I had gone against NEC code. Thanks!

No restriction, I do it all the time. Many of these disposable led troffers have annoyingly small j boxes making 14 a good choice.

You ran into trouble in the house as the NEC requires 20a SABCs in the dining room.

Unless there's a local amendment or owner requirement, 15a lighting circuits are perfectly legal.
