I am working in a commercial building that has 3 active water mains. I need to install a separately derived system (UPS) which needs a separate ground. Does it mater which water main I go to and why? All 3 water mains are about the same distance away. Any help would be appreciated.

Considering that all metal water piping systems are required to be bonded, I don't think that it would matter which one you use, as long as it meets the criteria as an electrode.
