Not.

As I read it, you can only apply the table if the receptacle load calculated per 220.14(I) is larger than 1 VA/ft?.

-220.14(I), is about 'load' and 220.44 established: "Receptacles loads calculated in accordance with 220.14 H and I shall be permitted to be made subject to the 'demand' factors given in Table 220.42 or 44."
-For me the 220.44 apply, but authors on 'Code calculation' differ on Table 220.44 application. I will teach this week about this calculation and I am not fully sure which one is the correct interpretation of Code.

You have to go by 220.14(K) first... for banks and office buildings.

If the larger calculated receptacle load falls under 220.14(K)(1), which is per 2201.14(I), then you can use Table 220.44.

If the larger calculated receptacle load falls under 220.14(K)(2), which is 1 VA/ft?, then you cannot use Table 220.44.

In order to determine which is larger, you have to calculate both ways.

If the larger is per 220.14(I), it is possible to end up with less than 1 VA/ft? the way it is currently written.
